Gentle Flow (Beginners) Pilates
My Gentle Flow mat Pilates class is suitable for those who want a gentle introduction to Pilates and a re-introduction to exercise at a slower pace. This is also a perfect class for those who want to continue with their Pilates practice following an injury or illness.
Mixed Ability Pilates
My mixed ability mat Pilates class is suitable for people who have experience of Pilates. Class members are encouraged to progress at their own level with options given throughout the class to progress or modify. I always like to remind my clients to work with the body they have 'today', as so many things can contribute to who your body responds to movement on a day to day basis.
Foam Roller Pilates with guided relaxation
In this class we will be using the Foam Roller to release, mobiles and strengthen the body. There is something almost therapeutic about the way the roller helps to release upper back and shoulder tension after a long day at work. The benefit is felt almost automatically, particularly after the shoulder series which are a 'must do' set of exercises for anyone who spends hours hunched over a computer all day! In addition the Roller adds instability, which challenges stability which makes some of the mat exercises more challenging. A popular class that will have you walking away feeling stronger, taller and will help you uncurl from your desk posture!
I finish this class with a 10 minute Guided Relaxation. A perfect way to destress the mind after distressing the body with the Foam Roller. Guided relaxation can give you a sense of calm, peace and balance that can benefit both your emotional well-being and your overall health. You can also use it to relax and cope with stress by refocusing your attention on something calming.
